I typically agree with you, but disagree on this. Liberals believe the state is the redemptive agent, therefore God is not sovereign. One needs to line up one’s theology with one’s politics.

I’d have to disagree right back. Most people just put a mark down during voting season or follow what is popular in their area. They don’t put that much thought into it, it’s not like they want a large oppressive state, they just don’t know what they want in a government. I don’t think that eliminates them from knowing Christ.

Furthermore, many liberals (and by liberals I assume we’re talking about the ones commonly associated with the Democratic Party) believe that government is simply the manifestation of the will of the public, with the will of the public being the best parts of the wills of each individual member of a society. Nothing could be farther from the truth, but this just means that most “liberals” are simply misguided. Seeing as nobody on Earth has the full truth, it hardly seems fair to say that this group of people who are politically misguided are barred from being Christian.
